Ines is an urban and regional planner. Trained in Germany, she has been with WMUD since 2005 and took over as director in 2021 after the passing of Willie Miller.

She has worked on all scales of design work – from regional cross-border strategies in Ireland to the design of micros-spaces in Glasgow. Her city-scale experience includes a development framework for Kensal Eco-Quarter in London, a regeneration framework for South Belfast and various projects in Glasgow including, Maryhill Town Centre, Royston Community Regeneration,  the Byres Road Corners Project, Supplementary Guidance for Port Dundas and most recently, the Barras Masterplan and Design Guide.

Her Strategic Design experience includes the production of a Healthy Sustainable Neighbourhoods Model for Glasgow City Council, a development guidance model for the Energetica project in Aberdeenshire and the spatial aspects of the Regional Strategic Framework for the Irish Cross Border Area Network (ICBAN).

Ines’s experience of regeneration and design frameworks includes Kilmarnock Integrated Urban Development Plan, The Biggar Agenda, Strathaven Town Centre Strategy, Lanark Town Centre Plan, Maryhill Town Centre Action Plan, Haddington Town Centre and Orkney Three Villages Masterplans. She is also highly experienced in current Scottish Government initiatives in street design and has been responsible for the design of projects in Kirkwall, Glasgow, Fraserburgh and Inverness.

Working with communities is a key part of Ines’s work and she has been deeply involved in the Scottish Government’s Charrette process in Port Dundas, Tranent, Dunblane, Motherwell, Forfar, Rothesay, Blairgowrie, Erskine and Prestwick.
